The first hole on the Dunes is not the easiest starting hole, a Par 4 measuring at 454 yards it doglegs sharply from right to left. The ideal line is just to the left of the bunker in the middle of the fairway. The player then has to find the narrow green with a long iron or wood. The green, which is shaped like a hogs back which falls off on both sides, is not easily hit but offers the golfer a birdie chance if they succeed in finding it.

Geraint Jones MBE, "this par 3 is my favourite hole on the course. A small elevated green protected by three deep bunkers slopes gently from left to right. I would normally take an eight or nine iron for my tee shot but with a northerly wind this may stretch to long iron."

A short par 5 that rewards the brave golfer, a generous but extremely undulating fairway awaits the straight tee shot. The ideal line is down the right hand side as this opens up the green but if you stray too far right a brook and out of bounds lurks. The golfer who finds the green in two will have an excellent chance of an eagle on this flattish green.

This hole is rated stroke index one, the tee shot should be aimed at the bunker in the middle of the fairway. The second shot to this hole is semi blind; the player must hit one more club as the second shot plays slightly uphill. The green is surrounded by two large bunkers at the front and the ball will run off from all sides but once on the green the golfer will face a fairly straight putt.

This par 4 doglegs gently from right to left, the golfer would aim twenty yards right of the large sleepered bunker in the distance, from here the golfer is left with a mid to long iron to an elevated green. The green falls off both left and right. The golfer should aim for the left side of the green as the ball will feed back to the center.

Set up high with views of the fourteenth at Royal St. Georges this par five is a gentle dogleg from left to right. The line is the middle tower on the power station. This green is set up on top of the dune with a ditch lying wait for the pulled second shot. This green is one of the longest on the course. Be careful to get the correct distance with your approach as this green has several levels.

A short par four at 366 yards presents the golfer with a great birdie chance, for the ideal approach shot the golfer must position his ball on the right side of the fairway. A deep bunker awaits the errant second shot but once on the green the player is faced with a relatively flat putt.

Zane Scotland Prince's European Tour Professional, "As one of the great holes in golf, this par 3 is a challenge for all levels of golfer. The golfer should favour the right side of the green as the bunker front left makes it very difficult for the golfer to secure there par. Once on the green any putt towards the left portion will run away from the player. If the flag is on the right they will have a much better chance of making a birdie or par."

The finishing hole on the Dunes course is a straight forward par 4, the tee shot should be aimed at the second bunker in the distance on the right, from here the player should aim for the front portion of the green as this green tends to fall away from the player. There many undulations on this green which the player should take into consideration when reading their putt.
